Ingredients

- 1 lb ribeye or sirloin steak
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
- 2 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
- 2 tbsp butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs (optional): thyme or rosemary
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients and chop the onion and mince the garlic.
- Heat skillet over medium-high heat. Add oil and sear the steak for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove steak from skillet and cook briefly before pouring in beef broth. Scrape up browned bits for extra flavor.
- Stir in cornstarch mixture to thicken gravy, then add butter until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve gravy over sliced steak and enjoy with your favorite sides.
