Description

A refreshing and healthy ginger citrus shot.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
  • ⅓ cup orange juice
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 3 inches fresh ginger root, roughly chopped
  • 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ tsp ground turmeric
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • a dash black pepper
  • a dash cayenne pepper
  • ½ cup water (or coconut water)

Instructions

  1. Roughly chop the fresh ginger. No need to remove the skin. Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend for about 30 seconds.
  2. Pour the juice over a measuring cup or bowl using a fine mesh strainer or nut milk bag. Push down on the ginger pulp with a spatula or the back of a spoon to get the liquid out. Toss the pulp. Portion it into 2 ounce servings for the week using small shot glasses.
  3. Enjoy them as they are or store them in ice cube trays and thaw them when you are ready to drink.
  4. Hint: you can also drink this like a hot tea by adding warm water.
