Description

Delicious cinnamon knots made with warm milk and spiced with cinnamon for a sweet treat.


Ingredients

Scale
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • ¼ tsp brown sugar
  • 1½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and granulated sugar. Sprinkle yeast over the top and let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour, salt, and melted butter to the yeast mixture. Mix until a soft dough forms. Knead for 5 – 7 minutes until smooth.
  3. Place dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size. Gently punch the dough to remove a bit of air.
  4. Place the dough on a floured working space. Roll the dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter evenly over the surface, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Cut into strips, twist each strip, and tie into knots.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place knots on a lined baking tray and bake for 16 – 18 minutes until golden.
  6. Cool slightly before serving warm.
