Description
Delicious cinnamon knots made with warm milk and spiced with cinnamon for a sweet treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- ¾ cup warm milk
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2¼ tsp active dry yeast
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ tsp salt
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- ¼ tsp brown sugar
- 1½ tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk and granulated sugar. Sprinkle yeast over the top and let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Add flour, salt, and melted butter to the yeast mixture. Mix until a soft dough forms. Knead for 5 – 7 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size. Gently punch the dough to remove a bit of air.
- Place the dough on a floured working space. Roll the dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter evenly over the surface, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Cut into strips, twist each strip, and tie into knots.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place knots on a lined baking tray and bake for 16 – 18 minutes until golden.
- Cool slightly before serving warm.
Notes
- These knots are best served warm for optimal flavor.
- Store leftover knots in an airtight container at room temperature.
