Description
This garlic bread recipe features a delicious combination of flavors and is perfect for pairing with pasta dishes or serving as an appetizer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large French baguette
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice the baguette into about 12 even pieces, cutting on a slight diagonal for larger slices.
- In a medium bowl, combine softened butter, olive oil, minced garlic, chopped parsley, Parmesan, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir until smooth and well mixed.
- Arrange bread slices on the prepared baking sheet and spread a generous layer of garlic butter over each one, all the way to the edges.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden and the bottoms feel crisp.
- Switch the oven to broil and toast the bread for 1–2 minutes more for extra crispiness, watching closely so the garlic doesn’t burn.
- Remove from the oven, garnish with extra parsley or Parmesan if desired, and serve hot.
Notes
- For best results, serve immediately after baking.
- Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes according to your spice preference.
