A delicious spaghetti recipe using fresh tomatoes, garlic, and basil.
Ingredients

- 12 ounces spaghetti
- 1 pound ripe tomatoes, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves, roughly torn
- Parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions
- Cook spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve some pasta water before draining.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté minced garlic until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
- Add chopped tomatoes, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Cook for 5-7 minutes until softened.
- Toss the cooked spaghetti in the skillet with the sauce, adding reserved pasta water as needed to adjust consistency.
- Stir in torn basil leaves and serve hot topped with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can add more garlic or use heirloom tomatoes.
- This dish is best served immediately, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
